About Me

My name is Andrea. A 20-something nomad raised in Atlanta, GA.  I have called several places home.

In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die, where you invest your love, you invest your life. – Mumford and Sons

My favorite song truly reflects on my professional career up to this point in my life. Before graduating with my BA in International Studies I didn’t comprehend that one day  I would be investing my {love} and career in english education and philanthropy.
In 2011,  China changed it all for me. That year I volunteered with International Language Programs as an English teacher. I was hooked immediately. The work. The culture. The people. The list goes on.

Leading up to the completion of my undergrad an internship took me to Eastern Europe with my Russian speaking husband and we experienced “Mother Russia” and it’s culinary prowess. {I love the food}
Again I fell in love with another culture and people.
After graduating I began working with OSSO. A non-profit focused on orphanage service and care. I worked two years focused on the volunteer programs to provide international opportunities and yet sustainable care to the children we served. Again I was back in Asia. Thailand became my home away from home.
Fast forward to today. I am soon to be joining my husband and fellow cohort in Mongolia with the Peace Corps. Volunteering in the education sector. A position that I began considering as an undergrad student and can’t believe is a reality!

This past year, leading up to this service opportunity, I worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) focusing on Adult Education and Citizenship classes for refugees and others throughout Metro Atlanta.
